What you need to know

Corduroy is a very popular material; it is easy to wear, extremely comfortable and still very smart. Fantastic as casual trousers for family occasions and outings or paired with the matching suit jacket for a smart and sophisticated suit.

I have made this suit using my 8 Wale Corduroy; this is thicker than the standard corduroy and is a heavy weight material of 600g per 1 linear metre.

Style Features

I have designed these trousers in a simple style, with 2 rear pockets and 2 front pockets. They are plain fronted and straight legged with belt loops.
Many of these features can be changed in the personalisation stage if you wish. There are many more options to choose from including brace buttons, pleats and turn ups. Please feel free to put your own touch to your trousers.

Trouser Build Quality

I go to the trouble of adding extra details to my trousers. Corduroy is likely to be worn a lot so it is important the structure of the garment holds together. For example, I put an extra strong bar tack in the crotch of the trousers to ensure that my trousers will never split in that area. I also add a D stitch to all the pocket corners to make sure that they are strengthened and reinforced and will not rip or tear. This is something I believe should be on all trousers but as it is time consuming and therefore expensive to do it is something that manufacturers and tailors are more likely to miss off than add on.
