What you need to know

The Nehru is a timeless classic Asian style with a mandarin collar.  It is usually designed in the traditional colours of blacks, greys and charcoals for formal occasions. However I believe that this suit is not just a formal suit, it can be used for everyday wear, and therefore I have styled it in a quality Far Eastern Material in a selection of fantastic colours. This material holds its shape well, is comfortable and durable and it resists stains.

Style Features

I have chosen features for this suit that modernise the traditional Nehru Suit not only in colour but in style as well.

The jacket is based on a Western version and is slightly shorter in length. I have also added flap pockets and I have put 5 buttons down the front. The trousers are plain fronted and have straight legs.
There are many more features and details available to add to your suit in the personalisation stage, you can also alter many of the above if you so wish.

Making this suit in pastel colours makes it perfect for Summer, or hot destinations. The variety of colours also means it is brilliant for weddings or other formal occasions as it can be matched into a colour theme or design for an event, especially weddings. It is also great if you want something that is just a little bit different to what is so commonly seen out on the high street.
I have over 100 colours available so if you do not see the correct one for you, please contact my team to find out what else we have.

I have already chosen a lining and piping colour that I believe compliment the colour of the suit you have chosen. There are a variety of other colours to select as well. These are available to view, along with my own choices, in the personalisation stage.

I believe there are features of this suit that should not be changed as these features define the suit and make it a true Nehru Suit. Please see these below.

  • I have put no vents in this suit jacket, at this length to add a vent would dramatically change the way the suit hangs and wears.
  • I have improved on the traditional Nehru Suit Jacket by adding pockets that compliment the shorter style.

Suit Build Quality

Putting extra detailing on suits is time consuming but it adds quality. Therefore I make sure that I add the most important detailing to my suits. For example, on the end of every pocket I put in a D stitch for extra reinforcement. This is something that, I believe, should be on all suits however many (including high end Bespoke Suits) will not have this as it is so time consuming and therefore expensive to add. I also add an extra bar tack (tight strong finishing stitch) in the trouser crotch, so my trousers will never split there.
